Cuts, lacerations, and abrasions represent common skin injuries with varying degrees of severity. A cut involves a break in the skin caused by a sharp object, while a laceration is a deeper and more irregular wound often resulting from trauma. On the milder side, abrasions are superficial injuries where the skin’s outer layer is scraped off. Proper wound care, including cleaning with mild soap and water, and application of antiseptic ointments, is crucial for preventing infection. More severe cases may require stitches for optimal healing. Timely and appropriate first aid measures play a key role in minimizing complications and promoting efficient recovery.
