Bed Sore/ Pressure Ulcer
Pressure sore also known as Decubitous ulcer, or Bed Sore occurs over the areas where abnormal, prolonged pressure is applied especially in paralysed or bed ridden patients. Factors that play a role in its formation: Neuropathy, Infection, Sheer, Friction, Moisture. Modes of treatment vary from preventing pressure on the at risk areas to various forms of surgery.
