Ear Deformities

Home / Our Services / Birth Defects / Ear Deformities

Ear deformities, such as microtia (underdeveloped ear) or bat ear (protruding ear), are relatively common congenital conditions. Microtia can range from a small, barely noticeable ear to a complete absence of the ear, and may affect one or both ears. Bat ear, on the other hand, refers to ears that stick out further from the head than is typical. Treatment options for ear deformities include surgical and non-surgical options, such as ear molding or reconstructive surgery. The choice of treatment depends on the type and severity of the deformity. It’s important to consult with our plastic surgeon who specializes in ear deformities to determine the best course of treatment for each individual case.
